        How does the jacket change color?

        The outer shell is treated so that contact with water changes how the fabric reflects light. Where a drop, a splash or wet snow lands, that patch turns your chosen color. Everything still dry stays black.

        Does the whole jacket change color?

        No. Only the fabric in direct contact with water, moisture or wet snow changes. Dry areas stay black.
